BIA offers comprehensive services to the transportation market. We have experience serving municipalities, PennDOT, and the Lehigh Valley International Airport, as well as serving private clients.
BIA provides a full range of surveying services and has coordinated and integrated boundary and ground control surveys and aerial photogrammetric topographic surveys for many large-scale projects. Our services are used by architects, developers, and municipalities, as well as commercial, industrial, and institutional clients for planning, site developments, and subdivisions. We currently field up to seven survey crews.

BIA's structural engineers design the structure for a building's functions, including the architectural features and the heating, ventilating and electrical systems. The structural aspects of a building may often be hidden, but they are always vital. BIA structural engineers calculate how to make an architect's plan work in a safe and cost-effective manner. Our services also include investigations that can determine the physical integrity of a structure and reports that can recommend alternative solutions to preserve an asset, whether new or centuries old.
BIA's professional geologists, scientists, and technicians help clients meet the local, state, and federal environmental requirements that are part of project development. We have helped clients obtain and execute Growing Greener and other grants and have received statewide honors for environmental assessments, remediation, restoration, and preservation. Our department includes Sewage Enforcement Officers, PA-licensed professional geologists, and a soil scientist. Staff members hold certifications in lead, asbestos, and OSHA 40-Hour Hazardous Training.
BIA is experienced in designing heating, cooling, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, lighting and air distribution systems that promote the functionality and comfort levels of industrial, residential,and commercial buildings. We use energy efficiency strategies and have designed to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) criteria. BIA also troubleshoots problems with existing systems and can design system upgrades and expansions.
BIA can assess existing systems and assist in the design and implementation of customized facilities management applications. Our engineers assess needs and develop implementation plans for the management and operation of buildings, campuses, and infrastructure. BIA also assists with the design and implementation of customized FM applications. These create budget forecasts using commercially available software for scheduling maintenance and tracking leasable space.
