Since 1977, BIA has provided surveying and a full range of engineering services to DeSales University, a private, coeducational, four-year liberal arts university on 400 acres in Center Valley, PA.
For the new campus center, BIA provided surveying, a wetlands determination, a preliminary geologic study, site design, permitting, and structural engineering design. Construction began in winter 2003 on the first phase of the building, which includes student housing, dining facilities, and lounges. Later construction will include a bookstore, meeting rooms, conference services, and additional dining areas. The architectural firm is Breslin Ridyard Fadero Architects of Allentown, PA.
Other projects of note include:
- structural engineering design and surveying for a 35,000-square-foot two-story addition to Billera Hall, the college recreation center, featuring a gymnasium, a fitness center, locker rooms, a kitchen, and a new building entrance.
- surveying, site design, structural engineering, and landscape design for the 36,000-square foot Priscilla Payne Hurd Science Center, featuring large 24-seat laboratories, a lecture hall, and small research labs.
BIA has also provided civil and structural engineering services for:
