The Glasbern Inn
The Glasbern Inn, situated on 100 rolling acres in western Lehigh County, PA, is a favorite destination for diners, vacationers, and business travelers. Since 1986, BIA has worked closely with the innkeepers, Beth and Al Granger, and architect, Frank Moyer, to provide engineering services for the evolution of the complex.

The Grangers first purchased 13 overgrown acres — with vacant farm house and outbuildings — in 1985. BIA's initial project involved structural evaluation and repairs to the 19th century barn, which was renovated into 11 luxury guest rooms and "The Great Room," a dining room with a 26-foot timbered ceiling. The Carriage House, the Gate House, and the Stables also were renovated into accommodations.

The BIA structural engineering department provided the foundation design and first-floor framing for the Inn's conference center — "The Lodge," a 19th century barn disassembled at its site and rebuilt on the Glasbern property. A relocated barn also became the innkeepers' home, and in early 2003, work began to convert another relocated barn into a reception center with over 200 guest rooms.
