Electrical Engineering Project Manager

Our busy M/E/P department is seeking an electrical engineer/project manager with five or more years of experience in electrical engineering and HVAC and Plumbing engineering, respectively, to work on a variety of projects. Typical projects will include: Institutional; Multi-use properties; Office buildings; Educational facilities; Tenant fit-out projects.  

Because you will be involved in several projects at one time, involving several team members, we need good communicators, able to multi-task, and work well with others.

Primary responsibilities of the electrical engineering position include

  • Designing electrical systems (electrical distribution, normal power, emergency power systems, and fire alarm systems).
  • Designing low voltage systems (security systems, telecommunications/data systems, closed circuit television systems, and access control systems).
  • Knowledge of Building Codes, National Electric Code and National Fire Protection Association Standards
  • Maintaining and developing design standards;
  • Training, mentoring, and developing electrical staff members
  • Preparing project proposals, contracts, reports, and specifications

 Requirements for the electrical engineering position include:

  • Bachelor of Science in Architectural or Electrical Engineering
  • Five or more years experience in related electrical engineering work
  • Professional Engineer License or
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and  Revit MEP
  • Knowledge and Understanding of LEED and Green Building practices (LEED certification is a plus)
  • Strong written and verbal communication, self-motivation, and leadership skills required

Structural Project Engineer

Our Forensic Engineering Department may be hiring an additional Structural Project Engineer to complete our expanding workload. Our Forensic Engineering department investigates materials, products, structures, or components that fail or do not function as intended. Using technical knowledge and professional experience, our engineers provide objective evidence for property owners, insurance companies, courts of law, and others in settling disputes, establishing causal relationships, determining liability, and/or designing repairs. We employ the same kind of analysis to determine the design approaches that are appropriate for the design of the adaptive reuse of structures.

Reporting to the Department Manager, the Project Engineer prepares and follows design outlines as directed, may request guidance and assistance in completing tasks, maintains/monitors schedules and time budgets for each task, assists in the preparation of proposals and contracts as requested, maintains project records for portion of work assigned, and attends client meetings.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Civil or Architectural Engineering.
  • Current P.E. registration required.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT.
  • Two to three years prior related experience.
  • Ability to prioritize and respond to the needs of several clients/projects at any given time.
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills (as we need to work effectively as a team and relate to the client).

Survey Crew Member

Description: Our survey teams focus on land development projects, major and minor subdivisions, construction stake-outs for residential, commercial, and industrial projects, and boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys. Positions may be available on our Hazleton and Lehigh Valley teams.

Responsibilities: Placing stakes, pins, and monuments; using total stations and other instruments; note keeping and electronic data collectors; reducing and plotting survey notes; conducting project research and plotting of information obtained; and minimal AutoCAD drafting.

Requirements:

  • Technical (two or four year) degree in surveying
  • Ability to endure moderate physical strain
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license

Municipal Services Engineer - Northeast PA Region

Members of the Municipal Engineering Department work on various project types such as extensions to municipal water and wastewater systems and privately owned water and wastewater systems; street reconstruction projects; stormwater systems (including culvert design), curb and sidewalk projects (including handicap ramps) and other municipal projects.

We would like to add a Civil Engineer to our Municipal Engineering group in our Hazleton, Valley Forge, and/or Lehigh Valley Offices.

Requirements include B.S.C.E., E.I.T. registration, and at least 5 years of related experience (PE preferred, but not required). 

Primary responsibilities will be the design of municipal utility systems and related civil engineering projects, so experience in water/sewer design is essential.  Experience with WFP/WWTP is helpful, but not required. Occasional travel to our Lehigh Valley office may be necessary.
