Market: Government
Working with government agencies requires a unique understanding of their needs - from the contracting process to the importance of accountability. Our experience with all sectors of government enables us to anticipate and provide the required range of services for public projects.
Local/County
We have particular strength in providing services to municipalities. We serve as the municipal engineer for three boroughs in Northeastern Pennsylvania—Emmaus, Pen Argyl, and Hazleton—and have provided engineered services for a variety of special municipal projects. We can also assist communities in identifying projects for which there is government grant money. We can then write and administer the grant.
Agencies/Authorities
We have served as the appointed consulting engineer and provided special project services — including grantwriting and administration — for many government agencies and authorities. In particular, we have successfully secured grants from state agencies (including DCNR) for local municipalities to improve stream banks and watersheds. These include the Lehigh Valley International Airport, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation, the Montgomery County Industrial Development Corporation, and the Reading Housing Authority.
State/Federal
BIA has worked with state and federal agencies and departments on the maintenance, repair, and renovation of buildings and infrastructure—ranging from highways and public parks to historic sites, hospitals, schools, military installations, and office buildings. Our clients have included PennDOT, the state Department of Environment Protection, HUD, NAVFAC, the Army Corps of Engineers, and the U.S. Post Office.
