In 1999, BIA began providing civil and structural engineering services for the Priscilla Payne Hurd Science Center. The 36,000-square foot center is more complex than an academic classroom building, as it must accommodate the functions involved in scientific study. The new center features large 24-seat laboratories, a lecture hall, and small research labs.
