Campus Square was planned by Lehigh University to house 250 students, provide parking for 350 cars, and offer retail space to the University bookstore (Barnes and Noble) and other tenants. The project was also intended as a catalyst for economic development in the adjacent South Side business district.
Although a challenge, BIA worked on a fast-track design and construction schedule, developing civil and structural engineering design when only broad architectural concepts were in place. The project also had to work around utility and communication lines that bisected the site, since moving the lines would have delayed construction and added $500,000 to the budget.
Project Value: $25 million
Design Dates: 2000 - 2001
Construction Dates: 2001 - 2002
Service Date: Fall 2002
