The demolition of the Central Heat Plant created a vacant space surrounded by residence halls, historic academic buildings, and the University’s football stadium. Already engaged as the Civil/Structural/MEP Engineer and Landscape Architect for the replacement maintenance building and the demolition project, Isett was asked to design a new lighted basketball court for student recreation.
The fenced area features one regulation-size court and two short courts. A switch-back ramp was integrated into the south end of the court to provide an ADA entrance. The project also includes a brick and concrete promenade connecting the residence halls and main parking lot with the football stadium.
