Lumber Street is an 800-foot connector road between Main Street (SR.100) and Lehigh Street, and is a boundary of Macungie Memorial Park. In our role as Borough engineer, Barry Isett and Associates provided design and construction phase services to reconstruct the road to bring the road to current Borough standards. Butler Township: $200,000 is being awarded through the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Community Recreation and Conservation Program to fund the Phase One construction of the Township’s Park Master Plan. Work will include infrastructure, access, and associated site work needed to construct a new softball complex within Freedom Park.
West Hazleton Borough: An $80,000 Department of Community and Economic Development’s (DCED) Greenways Park & Recreation Grant will fund upgrades to the Fifth Street Park including new playground equipment, a safety surface, improved lighting and security.
Lehighton Borough: The $250,000 DCED Greenways, Trails, and Recreation Grant is for improvements to the Jacob Weiss Park including replacement of asphalt, concrete walks and curbing, ramps to improve accessibility, and upgraded lighting.
Hellertown Borough: Phase One of their Water Street Park project received two grants—a DCED Greenways, Trails, and Recreation Grant for $193,000 and a DC NR Grant for $124,000. Improvements include a new basketball court/ice ring, a paved parking lot, and ADA accessibility features.
Salem Township: A $200,000 DCED Greenways, Trails, and Recreation Grant will pay for improvements.
