Greg Marks joined Barry Isett & Associates, Inc. in 1996 and was named the manager of the Forensic Engineering Department in 2006. The department investigates materials, products, structures or components that fail or do not function as intended and uses its expertise to provide structural engineering design in adaptive reuse projects. His experience includes the design and analysis of steel, wood, reinforced concrete, and masonry. He has conducted assessments on a wide range of buildings and is experienced in preparing contract documents and written specifications for proposed work. His reports include detailed descriptions of his findings, recommendations and an opinion of probable construction costs to remedy deficiencies, and a capital reserve study. Property Condition Assessments are based on ASTM International's "Standard Guide for Property Condition Assessments: Baseline Property Condition Assessment Process." The Forensic Department provides 24/7 response in emergency conditions at the request of insurance companies, construction firms, and project owners. Mr. Marks is a company shareholder.
