Douglas Brown has over 35 years of experience as a municipal and civil engineer, providing services to both private and public sector clients. He has extensive knowledge in the design and review of subdivision and land development applications; stormwater management; and roadway design and public infrastructure improvement projects. He is experienced in the preparation and tracking of construction escrows and the processing of escrow release applications; the preparation of construction plans and bidding documents; the inspection of installed improvements; and providing professional representation at public meetings. Over the course of his career he has served as the Municipal Engineer to New Hanover Township, Douglass Township and Souderton Borough (Montgomery County); Amity Township and Muhlenberg Township (Berks County); Quakertown Borough (Bucks County) and East Coventry Township (Chester County).
Prior to joining Barry Isett & Associates, Mr. Brown headed his own consulting firm which specialized in Municipal Engineering. Services included providing subdivision and land development review; site design for municipal projects; conducting storm drainage and flood control studies; preparing contract documents and providing project administration; and providing construction inspection of public improvements.
Mr. Brown brings a unique understanding to his role as Municipal Engineer as he serves on the Board of Commissioners of Lower Macungie Township, a First Class Township in Lehigh County. Initially elected in 2010, he was re-elected in 2015 and is now President of the Board.
