Tomasz Slowik, PE, joined the Forensic Engineering Department of Barry Isett & Associates, Inc. in 2017 after a structural engineering career of more than a decade with several greater New York City based engineering firms. Many of his projects involved the adaptive reuse of industrial urban buildings into high-end offices or luxury apartments and condominiums. These projects typically began with extensive property condition assessments and feasibility studies to explore the potential of the proposed new use. Supervising junior and mid-level engineering staff, he was responsible for the design of structural modifications to meet the needs of the new building use; preparing construction documents and engineering reports; and conducting site visits during construction.
