EPermitting UPDATE!
PennDOT ePermitting was created at the behest of the Governor to help create transparency for the HIGHWAY OCCUPANCY PERMIT (HOP) review process. It will also help developers and other applicants be more involved with the process.
For further information and step-by-step assistance on how to create a Business Partner account with PennDOT contact Ryan Kern at 610-398-0904 or rkern@barryisett.com . If you have an upcoming HOP application, we can assist you with setting up the application on PennDOT’s website.
KEY POINTS
- ePermitting was created at the behest of the Governor to help create transparency for the HOP review process. It will also help developers and other applicants become more involved with the process.
- All applicants will need to be more involved with the application process. Most of our clients will need to create a Business Partner account with PennDOT. The application is attached. Let me know if you need any assistance.
- All current HOP submissions that are under review will not need to be converted to the ePermitting website (i.e. they are grand-fathered).
- This process will help reduce the amount of paper copies to be submitted; however, it will not be completely paperless. PennDOT District 5 is still requesting 2 paper copies of plans & reports. Paper copies & a fee check shall be submitted within 24 hours of hitting the ‘submit’ button on the ePermitting website. PennDOT review will not officially begin until check & paper copies are submitted.
- Each review will be labeled as a ‘Cycle’. Once the submit button is hit, everything is locked down and no further submissions can be made until PennDOT completes their review. This will help to eliminate piecemeal submissions, which PennDOT is not fond of.
- All documents will need to be uploaded to the project page by the engineer. Maximum file size is 20MB.
