2022 Volunteer Challenge Project – The Salvation Army Allentown Corps
As part of the 2022 Volunteer Challenge coordinated by the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley, Barry Isett & Associates will once again pitch in to help The Salvation Army Allentown Corps with projects.
For several years, the team at Isett has come together in support of Matthew’s Garden at the Salvation Army’s Hospitality House. The space holds a vegetable garden and flower garden and the bounty of vegetables is used by the kitchens at the Hospitality House. Matthew’s Garden will be cleaned up, improved, and replanted so it can continue to be a useful, peaceful garden for the residents of the Hospitality House.
In addition, Isett will make upgrades to the Kitchenette Area where food and snacks are stored and prepared for local children in the after-school and summer programs. Isett team members will help to repair the overall space, including replacing flooring; removing and replacing old appliances; repainting and updating the cabinetry; and installing a new countertop.
The various projects performed by corporations in service to local area non-profits culminates with an event on May 11, where the teams “compete” to that raises the most funds for their organization.
Each year the Volunteer Center kicks off our Volunteer Challenge and challenges you and your organization to complete a sustainable project for a local nonprofit or school. The Volunteer Challenge is an opportunity for your company to make a lasting impact for members of our community and is the biggest fundraiser for the Volunteer Center.
