At Isett, our values guide how we serve our clients, support our communities, and show up for one another. Each month, we recognize a team member who exemplifies those values through our Values in Action Award. For December, we are proud to recognize Ken Fenstermacher for his outstanding commitment to Service.
For several years, Ken has volunteered during the holiday season as Santa Claus for Salem Township, joined by his wife, Jeannie, as Mrs. Claus. While spreading holiday cheer is meaningful on its own, one particular experience stood out as a powerful reflection of Ken’s compassion and generosity.
During a holiday event, Ken spent the entire day talking with a young boy who refused to leave his side. After the event concluded, organizers shared that the child had recently lost his parents. Upon hearing this, Ken quietly asked what the boy wanted for Christmas and immediately offered money from his own wallet to make that wish come true. When he learned the boy had siblings, Ken and Jeannie took a trip to the ATM to ensure there were enough gifts for the entire family.
This simple but heartfelt act of kindness made a lasting impact and perfectly reflects what the Values in Action Award represents.
Living Isett’s Service Value Every Day
When Ken isn’t playing Santa, he serves as a Code Specialist in Isett’s Code Services department, providing inspections and plan reviews for municipalities across northeastern Pennsylvania. He currently works with Salem Township as well as the boroughs of West Hazleton, McAdoo, Tamaqua, Freeland, and Conyngham.
In his professional role, Ken is known for his collaborative approach and commitment to finding solutions. He enjoys working with contractors, municipal partners, and colleagues, and is always willing to answer questions or help resolve issues. His appreciation for teamwork and open communication makes him a trusted partner to the communities he serves.
Ken has expressed sincere gratitude for the support of his colleagues and for being recognized through the Values in Action program. That appreciation, and the respect he shows others, is evident in everything he does.
