Honoring Women’s History Month

In honor of Women’s History Month, we highlight the impacts and contributions of both the late Shirley Isett & Francee Fuller to Barry Isett & Associates and our community.

Remembering Shirley Isett

First established in 1977, Shirley Isett managed all business operations of Barry Isett & Associates. As the company grew, she moved away from the management of administrative, human resources, and marketing responsibilities to focus on accounting operations and management of the company’s facility. Shirley held the role of Vice-President, Business Operations now held by Shirley and Barry’s daughter, Jennifer Isett.

Without Shirley’s drive and compassion, Barry Isett & Associates would not have grown to where it is today. Her strengths complimented the entrepreneurial spirit of Barry. She was involved in the hire and appointment of Kevin Campbell, PE, LEED AP, President and CEO, who has served as the driving force of Isett’s growth and evolution for more than 18 years.

In 2019, Barry and Shirley Isett generously gifted Penn State University a $1 million estate commitment to the University’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE). The endowment was dedicated to research expenses, new courses and programs, and education and travel expenses for students and faculty.

As Shirley and Barry moved away from the day-to-day operations of the company, together they enjoyed international travel and attending conferences hosted by the American Wine Society. She was very involved in her church and was a regular volunteer at the annual Lehigh Valley MATHCOUNTS event.

Honoring the Impact of Francee Fuller

Francee Fuller joined Isett in 1997, leading the marketing efforts of the company initially serving as the Marketing Department. In her 24 years with Isett, Francee led the way in growing the department and representing Isett’s core values with our clients. In addition to Francee’s professional pursuits, she was very engaged in the community, serving as a founding board member and past president of both CREW Lehigh Valley and the Friends of the Emmaus Public Library. Francee served 15 years on the East Penn School District Board of Directors, serving one term as president.

Throughout those years of service on the East Penn School District Board, Francee was involved in the planning, improvements and construction of the Alburtis Elementary School, Willow Lane Elementary School, Eyer Middle School and Emmaus High School. She also served as chairwoman on the Joint Operating Committee of Lehigh Career and Technical Institute. Francee was a long-time board member of the East Penn Chamber of Commerce, serving as president.

Among many honors, Francee was recognized for her contributions to the region as a recipient of the ATHENA Award, presented by the Women’s Business Council of Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, a Women of Influence by Lehigh Valley Business, as well as the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, presented by AmeriCorps and Points of Light.

The effects of Shirley’s and Francee’s influences within Isett and the community continue to be felt. We honor their leadership and legacies.
