For the third consecutive year, Barry Isett & Associates, Inc. is in prestigious company as a top-100 workplace statewide.
The Allentown-based, employee-owned firm that provides engineering and related consulting services has made the 2021 list of 100 Best Places to Work in PA. This honor is bestowed by a collaborative of Team Pennsylvania, Central Penn Business Journal, the PA Society for Human Resources Management, and Best Companies Group.
Isett earned this noteworthy recognition in 2019 and 2020, as well. Additionally, Isett has been named among the Top Workplaces in the Lehigh Valley by The Morning Call for nine consecutive years.
Employee surveys conducted as part of the state and regional programs are a big part in determining the best places to work.
“We truly believe our people are our greatest asset, so for them to share their pride in Isett to help us achieve this status again is tremendously rewarding,” Kevin Campbell, Isett President and CEO, said. “An associate who recently joined Isett said his first few days of work verified all the positive things and ‘hype’ he had heard about us. That says and means a lot.”
The firm will learn its exact ranking among the top 100 Pennsylvania workplaces at an awards reception later this year. Campbell said the company will analyze employee surveys and other data from the Best Places to Work program, identify any shortcomings and create initiatives for 2022 to further improve.
Barry Isett & Associates provides service to clients across eastern and central Pennsylvania in 14 engineering and consulting disciplines in Design, Field and Public divisions.
The company’s namesake, Barry E. Isett, P.E., P.L.S., F.NSPE, started the business in 1977 in the Lehigh Valley. In recent years, Mr. Isett has transitioned oversight to associates who have bought in as company shareholders through an employee stock ownership plan, or ESOP.
The firm has expanded to eight offices in Allentown, Furlong, Hazleton, Mechanicsburg, Phoenixville, Stroudsburg, Wilkes-Barre and Wyomissing. Its new headquarters is under construction at 5420 Crackersport Road in Allentown and could be ready for occupancy in the spring.
“Our growth and success are direct results of living our values – Balance, Ownership, Service and Team – every day,” Campbell said. “With 2021 being called the year of ‘The Great Resignation’ and with pretty much every company struggling to find quality people, our recruiting and retention results are outstanding. No doubt our culture and being a top workplace is having a huge positive impact on this.”
