Project Information
Mohnton Borough Pickleball Court Improvements
Mohnton Borough secured $200,000 through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s (DCED) Greenways, Trails, and Recreation Program (GTRP), along with an additional $32,772 through the DCED Local Share Account (LSA) Category 4 Grant Program, to revitalize the deteriorated tennis and basketball courts located behind Borough Hall. The project transformed the underutilized recreational area into a modern pickleball facility that enhances community recreation opportunities and promotes active outdoor engagement.
The improvements included the demolition of the existing asphalt courts and fencing, complete reconstruction of the court surfaces, installation of acrylic surfacing and line striping, construction of a 10-foot galvanized perimeter fence, and installation of up to four pickleball post and net systems. Additional enhancements included aluminum bleachers and site landscaping, creating an attractive and functional recreational destination for residents of all ages.
