Barry Isett & Associates proudly participated in the Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley’s She Nailed It! event on May 4 at Dimmick Park in Hellertown, joining teams from across the region in support of affordable housing initiatives.
The all-women competition brings together teams of four to compete in a fast-paced nail-hammering relay, but the true purpose extends far beyond the race against the clock. Each swing supports Habitat Lehigh Valley’s mission to provide safe, stable housing for families throughout the community.
This year, four Isett associates stepped up to represent the firm: Sarah Harris of Human Resources, Rayven King-Gray of Project Management and Construction Services, Patti Kerr of Code Inspection and Plan Review, and Monica Sweeney of Municipal Services. Competing as the “Stud Finders,” the team combined preparation, teamwork, and a strong sense of purpose throughout the event.
Their efforts paid off both on and off the field. The team set a fundraising goal of $2,000 and ultimately raised $2,935, surpassing expectations and contributing meaningful support to Habitat’s work. The funds will go directly to the Habitat for Humanity Home Ownership and Repair Program, which helps families build, purchase, and maintain homes across the Lehigh Valley.
For team captain Rayven King-Gray, the event held personal significance. “It was important for me to be part of this. I grew up in construction, my parents are contractors,” said King-Gray. “We practiced every week that we could since early March. We took an hour or two, got our reps down, our movements, and made sure we came out here to rock it.”
Her leadership and the team’s commitment reflect the broader spirit of the event, which celebrates both competition and collaboration. She Nailed It! brings together women from a wide range of professions, all working toward a shared goal: strengthening communities through access to safe and affordable housing.
