Professional Geologist (PG)
Jennifer Potter, PG, leads the Forensic Building Investigation and Environmental Consulting departments at Isett. She joined the Capital Region office of Barry Isett & Associates in 2020, bringing 20 years of project management and investigation experience in the geotechnical engineering industry.
The Forensics team performs assessments on a wide range of buildings and is experienced in preparing contract documents and written specifications for proposed work. The department’s reports include detailed descriptions of his findings, recommendations, and opinions of probable construction costs to remedy deficiencies. Property Condition Assessments are based on ASTM International’s “Standard Guide for Property Condition Assessments: Baseline Property Condition Assessment Process.” The Forensic Department provides 24/7 response in emergency conditions at the request of insurance companies, construction firms, and project owners.
Her experience includes the preparation of geotechnical investigations, reports, and recommendations; conducting test location layouts, test borings, and test pit loggings; and preparing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
During the course of her career, she has conducted numerous karst assessments, fracture trace analysis, sinkhole remediation, including designing compaction grouting programs, forensic analysis of structure failures, and insurance claims. Prior to joining Isett she was with Earth Engineering where she served as a Director and Assistant Director, responsible for managing and mentoring a staff of 13 professionals.
At Isett, Ms. Potter develops and manages multi-discipline projects communicating with clients, contractors, and the professional staff. Along with her focus on Environmental Consulting, she works closely with the Geotechnical Engineering Department and assists with Isett’s Construction and Material Testing services.
