Values in Action – Dylan Rolando

Values in Action Winner Dylan Rolando

Isett recognizes Dylan Rolando, Geotechnical Engineering, for his exceptional teamwork and ownership pertaining to our safety initiatives. We are contracted with CMI to provide 24 site visits per year; the past few years, we have not met this number—but we can always count on Dylan. He comes well prepared and is a great representation of safety at Isett.

Dylan’s duties are split between office and field work—which he enjoys most. His inside work includes field data analysis, report writing, ground improvement recommendations, and retaining wall design. Outside, he oversees various field work such as drilling jobs, ground improvement operations, and construction operations. Projects Dylan currently has a hand in include a few retaining walls and foundation support. The Ergon Retaining Wall Project involves redesigning and replacing an existing, failing retaining wall that sits next to an existing structure, while work for 513 Thomas Street involves redesigning and replacing a residential retaining wall that is just beginning to fail. Another project involves a compaction grouting plan for ground improvement to support the foundation of a new press manipulator for Lehigh Heavy Forge. Lastly, a new Family Engagement and Welcome Center is being added to the Allentown School District’s Building 21 and requires infiltration testing and borings.

Dylan enjoys the welcoming atmosphere at Isett and the willingness to help each other learn and grow, as well as the strong emphasis on having a healthy work-life balance. Within his role, he likes seeing a project completed. Most of the time, he’s on site before any construction has started, so it’s exciting for him to see it go from nothing to something.
