Congratulations to Brian Ferry for being our Values in Action winner for May! Brian demonstrated Isett’s “Service” value during his participation in the “Build a Cure for Brain Cancer” London to Paris 24-hour ride raising over $1,500. Brian spent several months training for the event and remains continually committed to this cause.
Brian has been with Isett just over a year. His responsibilities as a Landscape Designer vary from day to day, but he is constantly busy working on plans in AutoCAD, analyzing information in GIS and putting together graphics in Illustrator. The LA department has a wide range of projects on their plate right now; Brian is currently tackling Hazleton’s 12th Ward Park as well as City View Park and the South Whitehall Township Parks, Recreation and Open Space Plan. He enjoys working with the different municipalities and being able to apply his knowledge in a way that helps improve the day-to-day life of the residents. He also likes getting out in the field to do observations and analysis – much like he’s doing in South Whitehall Township. Overall, Brian has really been enjoying the work and his time at Isett this past year.
Brian appreciates all the support and encouragement he received from coworkers (especially Bryan Smith) and for everyone who donated to the charity bike ride. Without it, the event would not have been nearly as much of a success as it was. What Brian really loves are the people he works with – everyone is quick to offer help, answer a question, or just make a joke.
