Project Information
Allentown Metal Works Redevelopment
Isett provided numerous services for the redevelopment of a long-vacant industrial building and property, transforming the site into a modern manufacturing facility.
The 17.5-acre lot along Allentown’s South 10th Street was purchased by Eastern Exterior Wall Systems for their new manufacturing plant. Originally constructed in 1902, the site contained 260,000 SF of buildings and operated for 109 years as a heavy fabricated metals factory.
Isett provided engineering design for the Plant 2 rehabilitation, which involved taking the 110,000 SF building down to its shell for renovations including removing and replacing roofing and wall sections that did not meet structural evaluation standards. The unique historic building has 40+ foot ceiling heights and allowed the user to utilize the infrastructure for overhead cranes in the facility.
